Ok, we went to court for our status hearing on the 23rd and apparently a sale order has been issued (no date yet). We never responded to the notice that said we had 28 days to respond because our lousy attorney told us we didn't need to. According to him that was only issued for the HOA, county, and anyone else with claims to the property to respond for their share. Anyway, we are switching attorneys this week and taking paperwork to file chapter 13. Luckily, my work has a group legal servies plan. I am in Ohio, how long do we have before a sale? Or is it just as soon as they get to it? What is the process? I mean, how do they do appraising? We are in a condo, will they come inside? Any help would be greatly appreciated. oh, when is the foreclosure stopped? after my attorney has the paperwork I mean. Soooooooo stressed. Sorry, if this is to many questions at once.

Ohio is a judicial foreclosure state which means your lender has to go to court to get permission to sell your house. It sounds like that has already happened though if there's a sale date set
The foreclosure process stops as soon as your Ch 13 case is filed with the U.S. Courts.oh, when is the foreclosure stopped? after my attorney has the paperwork I mean.

We are in Ohio also. When our notice of sale went to the sheriff, the sale date was set about 6 weeks out. They may have already appraised your home. Someone sat in our driveway for a few minutes two days ago and walked around outside a bit and that apparently was the appraisal. They do not come inside.

Sale date was in paper today. September 11th. They appraised it at 75,000 but I don't understand how. The 2 bedrooms in this complex go for 70,000 to 80,000. It is a 3 bedroom. We "paid" 84,900. Anyway hopefully none of that will matter. Our appointment with our new attorney is next Saturday. That only leaves 4.5 weeks until the 11th. Is that enough time? I am really worried.
