"Cash for Keys?"

Did anyone's lender actually send them money to entice them to not sell off appliances and stuff? Did you have to ask them for this "program" or did they offer?

If you asked, how'd did you do it, who did you talk to, and when in the process did you talk to them?

I haven't seen anyone post anything remotely like this here in the forums. Were you contacted by a lender wanting you to participate in a program like this? (Or is this just wishful thinking on your part? )

I just heard about this through Litton Loan. I called them because we are behind in our mrtge & will be leaving our house soon. The cs rep mentioned they had a "cash for keys" program & then he transferred me to the loss dept & they said this only applys if your house has been foreclosed on & has been sold, they will offer some $$ to you to get you to leave!

Not sure how accurate this is. They also told me I could just mail my keys back!

I did cash for keys. The realtor that was going to list the property contacted us. It also gave us a 60 day period added to the be out time.

I heard about this on the radio but wasn't paying enough attention to be of much help other than to tell you that it really is happening here in California.
