Hi all,
I listed my house for sale in January (approved for short sale.)
Filed a petition for Chapter 7 bankruptcy March 19th. Listed on the petition that I was selling the house, and would surrender it if necessary.
Bank started foreclosure proceedings in early April (I hadn't paid on the mortgage since October).
Buyer put offer on the house, the bank accepted the offer, and we closed this past Friday.
My question is: obviously the foreclosure proceedings go away because the house is no longer in my name, but is there anything else I need to do? Anyone I need to contact? My attorney's been informed through the whole process and has told me the deficiency between the sale amount and the amt. I still owed on the mortgage is jettisoned in the bankruptcy, and that's automatic.
Am I missing anything? I've never done any of this before and just want to make sure...

I filed Chapter 7. Didn't want to do it, but the house ate all my money. Tried to negotiate with Fifth Third several times to lower my mortgage - even temporarily - but the most they could save me was $40 a month. Oh well!!
