I recently spoke to chapter 7 attorney but forgot a few questions I need answers to. I'm filing in a few months so I want to make sure I do it right. I'll get a little extra from bonuses Nov to Jan. Can I purchase house furniture that is needed? Also my son will be needing a vehicle soon and daughter currently has her own car. Can I put money on buying him a vehicle as down payment and pay off on her loan? I desperately need some answers on the dos and donts

I can't tell you how to spend money. I can say that you should continue to take care your the health, safety, and welfare or yourself and your family. That includes feeding, clothing, housing, and providing the necessities.
Always ask yourself this question: do I need this new furniture? My friend buys a new furniture set every year with her tax refund. I haven't bought a new furniture set in 5 years. I make 6X what she makes. I don't see it as a necessity. You should talk to that Chapter 7 attorney again and they may provide you some guidance. This is especially true when buying things like a vehicle with cash or paying off loans for an insider (family member).
Please, please, please seek legal advice from that attorney. Do not go making these important decisions without understanding the implication in the bankruptcy context.Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
