PACER puts thru the charges on your account really quick!

I was sent a statement a couple of weeks ago that my PACER bill was due November 7th and that my card online could be charged up to 7 days before the due date.Well low and behold they charged my account exactly seven days before my due date.
I don't think I like that at all.Not being sure exactly what date they plan on taking it from your account.I did leave the amount in my account to be sure it was covered but I'd rather be given a specific date for them to take it out rather than within a seven day period of time.Yuk.That doesn't work for me at all.
Oh well at least my PACER account is close to being paid off.

The same just happened to me. If they are going to charge your account 7 days ahead of the due date, then why show it due on the 7th?? Fortunatley I am not using PACER only to check for new filings on my case so I hope this will be my last bill from them.

I've checked our bank acct and PACER hasn't gone thru yet.

I'm doing the same thing, Connie. I log-in and check for new filings. Nothing new, I don't look. No charge that way.

So we'll hope the next bill won't be much of anything.

I've been using pacer since the end of September. I checked my balance and it a little over 12.00. I haven't received a statement or a debit from my checking either..does it take them a while to bill?

When I've owed, I get an email bill first, and then they usually deduct from our checking right at or around the billing due date.

Yes they e-mailed me a statement also with the due date and amount owed.My balance was really high too.I filed pro-se so I spent alot of time looking up other cases to see how they filled out their petitions. It cost me dearly.
Happy to say I'm all filed and in less than 3 weeks my 60 day waiting period will be done.

                How PACER charges

                Copied from http://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/faq.html#GP3 ...

"The PACER Service Center mails quarterly statements unless you have signed up for automatic credit card billing. Each quarter a statement will be generated and mailed for your account, if you have accrued charges during the quarter and have a balance due greater than $10. If your balance due is less than $10, no statement will be mailed and payment will be deferred until the balance due is greater than $10. The statement will only include the total amount due. Transaction detail is available through this web site or through a statement email service. Both are available in the Account Information section of this web site.

Note: Balances for accounts that have signed up for automatic credit card billing will be charged on a quarterly basis automatically to the credit card on file at the PACER Service Center for account balances more than $10. Balances less than $10 are deferred. Electronic statements will be generated and sent via email. Paper statements will not be mailed for these accounts."

If you haven't received a bill or been charged for PACER use yet, it's most likely because your charges are less than $10. HTH!
