Should I get my mail forwarded?

I have been living with my parents for the past year due to my divorce. I am now remarried and have purchased a new home with my husband. I will be moving in there in the next week. I'm about 4-5 months out from filing for a Chapter 7. All of my new bills for the new house go there already. All my old credit card bills have my parent's address on them. I'm wondering if I should put a forwarding order in with the PO and risk the creditors getting my new address. Will it even make a difference if they have my new address? They could easily look on the property appraiser's website and see I bought new home and get the address that way. Am I worrying about this for nothing? My parents can always mail me anything that comes.

If your creditors want your new address, they have many ways to find you. Just for the convenience and not to worry your parents, I would go ahead and forward your mail. The forward is typically only in place for six months anyway. As you said, your parents will let you know about any mail that comes for you after that.
