"Is turning in the original numbers good enough if I don't know if any more have been sold off?"

Turning in the original creditors/numbers is good enough, but if you list collections addresses in the creditors matrix, they will get mailings from the court - including notice of your filing, and hopefully, notice of your discharge.

          This saves hassle.

Just give your attorney everything you have, with original creditors and the subsequent collections activity organized together.

There's a good chance that some of the unidentified phone calls are connected with the letters you already have and even if more collections activity occurs, you will have a little time to amend your matrix.

When they buy your debt, some collection agencies will report to the credit agencies. A few of ours did.

To make sure you don't forget anyone, give your lawyer a list of every company you receive bills from before filing with their mailing addresses. (Be careful - the address you mail your payments to may not be the company's real mailing address.) Also this is a good time to answer the phone just so you can get all the calling credit and collector companies names and mailing addresses. Once you have that information, if you see a familiar number or phrase pop up on caller ID, you can ignore those
