    Are all trustees U.S. trustees?

I filed for Ch7 a couple of weeks ago. I received the 341 meeting notice which states the name of the trustee. I looked him up online and the information I find says he's a U.S. trustee. I thought that there would be a CH7 trustee at my creditor's meeting and the U.S. trustee would review my file separately. I wonder if they're all U.S trutees or if I had the badluck to get a trustee who might scrutinize things more.

All Ch 7 and Ch 13 trustees aren't US trustees, although US trustees can also function as local (aka private) trustees or come in if the local trustee pool has been tainted by a debtor who contacted each of them before filing. (I know....confusing!)

See http://thismatter.com/Money/Credit/B...cy_trustee.htm and http://www.usdoj.gov/ust/eo/ust_org/about_ustp.htm to understand the trustee reporting and functions structure better. HTH!
