    Let the Games Begin...

    Well, today's the day. I'm meeting the attorney in a little over an hour to sign my Chapter 13 papers. Like everyone, I'm terrified that my payments are going to be too high. Dealing with the creditors so far has not been as bad as I thought it was going to be.

    Hopefully filing won't be as traumatic, either.

    Next...waiting for the 341 meeting...

      Well, I signed and the attorney filed electronically, so I have a case number and everything. My payment (at least at this point) is MUCH better than I expected. Even if the Trustee balks at a few of my expenses, I'll probably still be better off than I thought I would be. I've submitted some high expenses in a couple of areas but I have receipts to back them up, so hopefully all will be OK. At least my attorney thinks so, and one of the reasons I picked her is because she has filed so many Ch 13's in my area. My 341 meeting should be right after the first of the year.

      I feel very relieved. Thanks to everyone on the forum for providing SO much good information. Knowledge is power. I could never have gotten this far without you folks.

        Congrats, Fabala....welcome to the 13 Club!! Let us know when your 341 is scheduled and your confirmation hearing. Soon the stress of carrying all your debt for so long will start to peel away...it's a great feeling!

          Ya have to think of it this way. At least you'll be out of debt at some point within the next 5 years. If you didn't file you could be paying for the rest of your life. Good luck to you!
