    Collection letter from lawyer

We received a letter today from a lawyer representing a cc we have. Very small balance, under $900.00. The letter read they had us on record as filing BK and wanted to know who our lawyer was, what chapter we are filing, and a case number. We are not filed yet so no case number, however we do have our lawyer, paid in full. Should we answer all the questions or forward this to our attorney? We are waiting to file due to our stimulus check.

Also we have gotten a collection letter from a collection co today on another card wanting to know if this debt is ours basically. Should we respond? Or just ignore it? We have given all our lawyer info to all phone calls we have received.

It was a fun day, got the letter from the IRS saying our stimulus check would be mailed on the 16th, along with 2 collection letters.

Just curious if anyone responded to these letters or just let them slide and sent them to your attorney. We will not be filing for awhile, due to stimulus check. It could go past the 30 days the collection letter gave us to respond.

    Thanks ahead of time. JPT

Give the letters to your lawyer and follow his/her advice about what to do (if anything).

Chances are your lawyer is going to tell you to lay low and do nothing. No sense giving your creditors information that could possibly be used against you before you file.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
