Has anyone heard of these guys? Any recommendation?

    Hello again.

I was trolling through the internet for more info on BK and ran into a website by "Bridgeport Bankruptcy", who state they will do all the paperwork, give info anytime and as much attention as you need, be available for anything. They state they have "never had a bankruptcy rejected by any court". The total price is under $1000.00, but you know what they say, sometimes you get what you pay for.

I have not filed but have talked to 2-3 Attorney assistants. The one I liked was great, good info, and stated the Att. would call be back the next day with a guestimation of how much my payback would be. That was almost 2 weeks ago. So, maybe I need to keep looking. I don't want one that takes my money and doesn't follow through with help/questions/concerns.

Just thought if anyone had heard of these guys, whats the word?

Your probably far better off finding someone in your home town or a neighboring town, someone you can meet in person rather than a faceless individual.

You could research them, ask them what lawyer they use and what district they have filed in. Then use pacer to look at some cases but that can get really expensive.

Most BK attorneys are swamped right now. I'd see a few more locally .

I filed pro se and I used Bridgeport for my document prep. Here is what I posted to this forum back at the time - after my Rule 2004 examination:

"A word on Bridgeport. I used them also and before the 341 I received a letter of inquiry from the U S Trustee's office about the preparation company I used. It was a sternly worded two page questionaire type inquiry. I responded as honestly as I could and never heard anything else about it, good or bad, nothing - until the end of the Rule 2004 examination (which you will most likely never get to do, I hope) and the trial attorney for the U S Trustee's office told me that they did appreciate my thorough response and that they have their sites set on Bridgeport. Apparently the operator is not even states side and has operated under different names until shut down and then starts another. The company is apparently being investigated for not reporting income, etc, etc. It will probably not have any impact on your filing, but just be aware."

My recommendation, as in all things, learn as much as you can and then make your own decision. If you want to help the UST office build their case - go for it! Hope this helps!

I didn't look this place up but if it is just a document prep place, what that means it is just a paralegal document service that will prepare all your filing documents for you from the information you provide but they are not attorneys and cannot represent you. So if you file these documents and there are issues, you are out of luck and out those fees without an attorney.

          Thanks for the input

Thanks to all who reponded with info on Bridgeport. Like I said, I did not know anything about them except their web site, and we know what that means. I would rather stay on the side of caution and go someone local.
          Thanks again!!

I've read good reviews on another online doc prep company, but I seem to remember it's against the forum rules to post links. There's a website that reviews BK doc prep companies, and they seem to be pretty unbiased.
