Well, I called BofA yesterday and just pretended that the one guy never told me that I could not get the money back.

Amazingly enough, the gal I got on the phone could see where I had canceled the repayment plan 2 weeks before filing!!! She checked to make sure no more payments were set up and then put in the request for the refund to my originating (CU) account in 3 to 5 business days!!!

    YAAAYYYYY!!!!!

I will let you know when it actually shows as a deposit in the account!

                Good for you!

If it were me, I would try to forward this information to "Richard the bankruptcy rep" at BOA, or his supervisor. It really grinds my gears when people who hold themselves out as an "expert" or an authority on a subject of importance, like Bankruptcy, passes on wrong information, like this Richard character did.

Of course, that is me, I do have issues "just letting go", but I just know that you are not the last person this will happen to and it won't stop until banks like BOA get sanctioned or fined for inappropriate behavior and ignoring laws.

In any case, woohoo! Glad you worked it out.
