I filed on 11/18, and I am wondering if Amex gets notified electronically? It seems my other creditors have, but AMEX is still contacting me. I know it's a $1000 violation each. Do I tell my attorney about this?

They mail a letter... It can take over a week. When they call just inform them that you filed and give them the case number and your lawyer info. They wont all again afer you give them the info.Originally posted by Argh! View PostI filed on 11/18, and I am wondering if Amex gets notified electronically? It's not so simple as a $1K violation each. It needs to be that they were notified or should have been aware. Generally, it takes 7 days for the notice to come in the mail. Some creditors (almost all major creditors) get this electronically.Originally posted by Argh! View PostI filed on 11/18, and I am wondering if Amex gets notified electronically? The best thing to do is make note of when they call, and then tell them that you filed and give them your Attorney Name, Phone Number, and the Case Number. That serves as notification.
If they bother you after sufficient notice, then you can start talking about maybe considering that they are violating the automatic stay.Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
