Has anyone been fired from a banking job after filing for BK? Has anyone been denied a promotion in banking where they specifically said it was because of a BK?

One cannot be fired from a position just for filing bankruptcy. If they can prove the firing was due just to them filing bankruptcy, they need to consult a good labor law attorney. However, note some companies have listed in Employment Agreeements (usually for manager, executive or officer positions) that if that person files bankruptcy, they must notify the employer immediately. If they don't, they could possibly be denied a promotion or fired. Banking and financial institutions may have clauses in place in employment agreements/contracts as to an any employee filing bankruptcy. If one works for a bank or financial institution, it's always best to review that company's policies if one needs to file bankruptcy._________________________________________

When I filed back in 2004 I did work for a bank. Nothing happened. Of course I didn't file on any of their products -didn't have any. Don't know what would have happened if I had filed on one of their credit cards or loans.Originally posted by freshstart10 View Postis there anyone here that has filed while working at bank? what happened?
