I'm not real nervous. The only thing I'm conserned about is the Trustee going after the $8k in funeral expenses. I'm going to be going in there with a $26k check from the life insurance company which is just about enough to pay off my debt. If they try and go after the funeral expenses should i plea for mercy or what??? Do you think they would let me change to a Ch. 13? Pls if you read this say a pray for me and my family. Thanks for all your help and I'll keep you guys informed.

Make sure you take with you funeral home receipts showing how every bit of that $8,000 was spent. Also remember your brother is responsinble for half of that amount since, from what I gathered from your other postings, the insurance from your father was made out to you and him both._________________________________________

Pigpen, I still say if that is not "forgiven" then they have no heart. I wish I could sit in on your 341. I am pleased you are not nervious as it really isn't that bad. You do have a 'different' kind of situation. I'll bet you make out better than you think. If I knew it all, would I be here?? ***UPDATE***
Well, the Meeting went OK. The trustee seemed like a pretty genuine guy. The whole thing lasted about 7-8 minutes. About 5-6 people went before us and it seemed as though most of them were trying to hide something. The trustee was questioning them about a lot of properties, Harleys, and Corvettes. So when he got to me and I slapped down that $26k check, I think he was pretty relieved that he was finally dealing with honest people. He asked us the basics and then asked me about my lawn mower that I accidentally put under "Tools of the trade" and it should have been under "House hold". It was pretty short. He asked about who died and I told him who it was gave him the check and he never mentioned funeral expenses. He also said he had no interest in my 2 cars or house. I almost forgot, at the end of the meeting he said something to the extent of "I hold onto the check for a little bit to see what exemptions you can find for the check?" It was almost as though he was hinting to us that there were exemptions we can use. So where the heck do I look for exemptions like this in Missouri. I've looked and only found the few basic ones, Theres gotta be a BK law book updated yearly about these exemptions. Anyway, So now what? Do they mail me something in the next couple days about what their gonna do next??Last edited by pigpen75; 12-22-2008, 09:55 AM.Filed: 11/20/2008

Yea, I can't believe I'm done with that meeting. I was supprised that there really wasn't any creditors at the meeting. there actually was a couple for one women who never should up. lol. Now I just need to find some exemptions for that life insurance benefit and I'll have it made.Originally posted by BROKENN View PostAnother to the 60 DAY Club!!! Woo Hoo!!
