    ING account

Anyone have an account with ING? I just opened up a savings account with them.

I just opened up one with them last week. I had read good reviews about them before I decided to open one up with them. None of my local banks could touch the interest rate.

I have a checking account and a few savings accounts with ING. I think it's neat that you can open as many savings accounts as you'd like. That way, you can set up a different account to save for each long term bill/savings goal.

I've had ING for years and they've been nothing but good to me.

I've heard recent grumblings about ING possibly going down. Keep eyes/ears open; so many rumors floating around.

          Thanks Flamingo

Did you remember where you read/heard these rumors? I did quite a bit of searching online before I opened my account and couldn't find anything negative.

Plus since they are FDIC insured, doesn't that mean we would be protected if it did fail?

I have had ING for a year or so. Great service so far. It's easy to transfer money around to other accounts. I love their overdraft protection in their Orange checking account. Basically it's credit at a competitive interest rate. Beats the hell out of overdraft fees.

They feeling the pressure like most other banks I guess.

It was in the paper not too long ago and also on the radio. I also saw something on line not too long ago about the top 20 businesses that may not make it through 2009 and ING was listed. There were other smaller companies listed such as Rite-Aid, American Eagle, etc., etc. I'm sorry I don't have a link or anything as I did not keep track of that information when I saw or heard it, but I see someone posted a link to some information.

I have had one for a few years, but didn't start putting money in it until recently. The interest rate is definitely better than a traditional savings account. It takes a few days to transfer money in or out, but it's pretty convenient to just do everything online.
