My fiance's mom had co-signed with her when she bought her olds alero.
The auto loan to GMAC was paid off last october.
A couple of weeks ago, my fiance and I took out a new loan on the alero to pay for our upcoming wedding. We haven't had a chance to run by the DMV and re-title the loan listing the credit union as the lien holder.
Yesterday, they suprised us and filed ch7.
I need to re-title the car listing the credit union as a lien holder. I don't think her mom realized that she was still on the title for the alero, so she didn't list it as an asset.
Can i re-title the car leaving her mom off? or is that concealing assets since she already filed?
what are the chances that if i do leave her off, they'll find out about the car anyway?
the loan we just took out is for about 80% of the value of the car, so there's not a lot of equity to recover.
(i'm kicking myself for procrastinating going by the DMV)
thanks
