you get another bill that you weren't expecting. I had surgery last Sept and had to pay 500 out of pocket for my portion. I had complications from the surgery and had to be readmiitted to the hospital just one day after I was discharged. I just got a bill from the hospital yesterday saying the I owe them another 500 because of the readmitiance. What a jip!!

I hear you...
I'm in the same boat. Since early January I've spent $1200 on medical and dental issues and right now I still owe my dentist another $1,000. I'm praying nothing else happens until I can get that paid off.
Here in Fla. it costs about $3,500 to file Chapter 13... at the rate I'm going I will be lucky to have that amount saved by Christmas!

Don't pay it.Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick

Talk to your insurance company. If you were discharged and then readmitted one day after for the same problem I would think there shouldnt be another copay/deductible.Originally posted by chloe0724 View Postyou get another bill that you weren't expecting. Your insurance company may deny it and you will not be responsible since it was from complications. Call your insurance company for their input.Originally posted by chloe0724 View Postyou get another bill that you weren't expecting. I will answer your philosophical question:
Cause life sucks, then you die. Lol.
PS- I don't mean to be the PC police, I'm saying this more cause I love language and linguistics... The word jip (actually GYP) came about as a derogatory term toward gypsys. Sort of like saying "n-gg-r" back in the 1800s! There ya go, I taught you something "new."

So the hospital told me that is was the second deductible for the readdmission a day later to the hospital. They told me to call the insurance. Insurance said sorrry, that's the way it works.
So I called the hopsital back ( by this time I am very upset) and ask them how long I have to pay it back. They say 12 months is the max. I say fine $50 a month for 12 months.
This is nuts. So it;s a total of $1100 out of pocket this year for a surgery I had last year!!!!!!!!!!Filed Chapter 13 05/23/08
Converted to Chapter 7 Jan 2012
Discharged April 2012
