My son is 20 yrs old and still living at home. He has a mininum wage job and all in all doesnt make that much money. I think I know the answer but on the means test do I claim 1 or 2 since I pay all the bills to run the household ??? I am think its 1 because he is actually not dependant on me ..

Do you claim your son as a dependent on your taxes? If you provide more than 50% of his support, you should be doing so. Your son is part of your household as he lives with you and apparently depends on you for a place to live that he cannot afford. His income is part of your household income and he is considered a part of your household._________________________________________

I believe you would include him and his income in your household size. The maximum annual median income for PA as of 3/15/09 for a 2 member household is $53,011 per year. The minimum wage as of 7/24/09 is 7.25 hr and a 40 hour week would total $15,080 yr. Your below the mean as long as you make less than $37,931/yr. Your actual figures may of course vary.
The look back is 6 months though so between you and your son you would need to make less than $26,505.50 combined in the last 6 months to be under the means for PA.
