    garnishment

I finally had to stop to pay credit cards, rates went to 27-29 %,
even minimum payments left me with no money for food , and over
3 years I sold everything what I had, to keep payments current .

I have very high debt, about 100k, all money were spent on lawyers fees .
    ( family law)

Long story which likely belongs to another forum .
The last chapter was waiting one year for the result of appeal, I lost .

My only income are alimony from ex, 1750/month, the money are deposited to my checking account every 1st of the month, and usully gone, almost entirely in few days for fixed payments .

I still pay close to 30k debt on credit cards of another person, who helped me to survive .

I do not work for almost 8 years now.

If credit cards are going to sue me, is likely court will order the garnish
of alimony money from my account ?

I am also waiting for the half of money from the 401 accumulated before divorce, same question, is court going to order garnishment of this money if they appear in my account ?

I am 58 now, and try to make existence out of U.S., Mexico , living in motorhome for 5 months now .
I do not own anything of value . Even this old motorhome does not belong to me .

If someone please can tell me, should I now run back and close old ones-open new bank accounts, in order to avoid garnish of money .
I can not open account on line, because my driver licence
    expired .

How to go around 401 money, probably about 25k, or is it maybe extempt ?
My lawyer is "working hard" on QDRO .
I used to live in California, now I have only mail room address there .

    please advise
    regards

Your situation is made difficult in that you have no physical address.

As for the question of levying your bank account, would depend on the laws of California but yes creditors could probably levy your bank account even if the source was alimony.

The only money exempt from creditors levying bank accounts is social security disability, unemployment, and other federal and state assistance payments.

      Alimony is not exempt.
You can't take a picture of this. It's already gone. ~~Nate, Six Feet Under
