Trust me, brushing and flossing regularly is not going to stop the nerve buried deep in the tooth from dying. I had to have 2 root canals and I maintain my teeth very well. Since you obviously don't know about root canals, as we age, the bone structure in our jaw changes and our teeth can move. The nerve pulp can die as a result, especially if you didnt have straight teeth to begin with. I had one that was crooked from the time I was 7 yrs old. I imagine not taking care of your teeth may influence some root canals but not all. Its just something that can happen.

I also have something called a SAVINGS ACCOUNT. Call a bank near you and ask about it. You can put money in it and use it for things like dental bills when your insurance doesn't cover the total amount.

Thank you to those with the kind words. I really appreciate it. I've browsed this forum since I filed and I've found a lot of great advice and seen a lot of supportive helpful people.


Regarding those that are negative...are there moderators here? Because all I did was post a bankruptcy question on a bankruptcy forum and this is what I get...

Society is starting to think that filing bankruptcy is wrong. How does it feel to be at the wrong end of the ugly stick?

You seem to have a pathological need for negative attention. My guess is that you suffer from severe depression, lack of self-esteem, and perhaps a latent oedipal complex. This is typical of uneducated and illiterate morons with nothing better to do than troll a message board insulting people. Just so you know, I teach several classes at the local community college and I am very good at what I do. Not everything is about money, I do volunteering for FREE, I try to help people in my paying job and in the community. Get this, I even have friends, something you don't know about. (my friends are good friends too, people I can call in the middle of the night, that care).

Comparing slaves to bankruptcy? Are you kidding? Everyone with a brain knows that without OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to bankrupcty the country would implode in a matter of weeks. How is anyone supposed to take any risks without it? How would it be possible for small business to get started? How is the credit card industry going to make loans? If society is starting to think that filing is wrong then why was there so much bad publicity on the new laws when they aren't as tough as "society" made them out to be? Society (me included) are tired of fraud and abuse, but not the honest debtor's right to a fresh start.

I see you have all met Lightning... ...he is know for this kind of harsh negative talk. Best thing is to ignore it, as you see he has been around here for awhile, no use in arguing with him.....he likes it!! He goes away for awhile, to do some self-gratifying acts, then comes back.

Before you know it he will be gone again... .Don't let him get to you!

Simply put we are not your judge and jury anymore than we would want someone to be ours. We are here to offer suggestions, share experiences and provide any kind of support we can. We are not legal beagles but ordinary people who have either gone through or are going through a very difficult time in filing BK. Believe me when I was going through BK this forum(and one other) were my lifelines. I dont know what I would have done w/o them(with a few exceptions of course). Ironically, I am the poster child for dental work. I think my husband wishes he had checked my teeth first before we got married. With the exception of braces I have had every dental procedure known to man and coincidentally, I just had a root canal as well. And by the way I do have dental insurance and still had to pay 50% of the root canal and I do need a 4-unit bridge as well(my share is about $1700). Regardless, I think the worst case scenario for you would be having to pay the dental bill. I am sure your intent was not to commit fraud...medical expenses are just one of those unpredictable but necessary evils...Good luck...keep us posted...I hope at the very least you can 'splain your side of the story.

The only thing I want to add is there are times when the answer to someone's question isn't sugary and sweet, and most of the people here try to give honest answers. (EXAMPLE: Can I sell all my assets to my sister for $5? NONONO-transferring assets before BK will get you in a lot of trouble.) The key is constructive vs. destructive. And since this is not a legal advise board, everyone needs to keep in mind that they bear responsibility for their own actions & decisions.
