Really? Mine is different... the fact that the little lock was missing on my search page was how I realized it wasn't secure for that part. The little lock is there after I choose a case, but it's not when I click on the type of case I want to search, and it's not on the page that I type in the name, SS, or case number of what I'm searching. Weird.

Oh Lord, mine is $78, I quit checking it some time ago except for the status. I just can't believe that can be correct. I know I looked at a lot more when I first got on here in Oct. Oh, I guess Oct would be considered in this timeframe. Poor me, that's what I get for enjoying research LOL

Good thing I don't have those pesky credit card payments to make

Ok I just finished writing a letter to Pacer requesting a credit. I sent an e-mail, but they said they needed in writing a copy of the charges I'm disputing...yada yada!! So off to the post office tomorrow.

OK question...has anyones totals been different??

Here is our situation...I have been checking the "Billing History link", and the charges are $12.40 for 10/01/05-01/22/06. So I was cool ok..not too bad. Today we get our "Quarterly Account Summery" in the mail from Pacer stating the amount is $34.88 for 10/01/05-12/31/05?? I was confused!! I JUST checked PACER right now and it says $12.40...so I printed it out and am requesting total refund of everything from them. I wrote that it was misleading, and confusing giving two totals. So I'll let you know what the outcome was!!

lots of consusion comes from people searching other courst.

when you log into pacer you are using the link for your court. if you check your totals there then its just the balance for that court and its searches.

if you go to to the main pacer site http://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/

it will display all courts charges if you ask it for 'ALL' courts.

              could that be the diffference?

We only did searches under our SS# for all courts....we never looked at other places. We also were told to search under the US Party/Case Index link....that was the instructions that came with the user name and password, and that was the only way we EVER logged on. So I added that tidbit of info in our complaint, that was the way THEY told us to search, "to be cost effective", yeah right...lol.....so we will see!

no that is the worst way i think. its because that costs a price each time.

you should always use the link directly to you court. not US Party Index.

im talking about looking up your transaction details. use the main link, account access, etc.

                          Update.............

Just wanted to update everyone on the status of my billing dispute with Pacer. I had orginally emailed my dispute, but was told that they needed it in writing, so I faxed it in. My bill was like $128. Man, that is outrageous. Well, I got a packet in the mail today. Pacer has graciously forgiven me for $100 of my total. YES....they credited me $100 . Yippee, yahoo, alrighty then !!!! I'm just as happy as a breath of fresh air. Anyway, just wanted to update everyone!!!!!

                              Many Congrats, OddBall!!

I still can't get PACER to show me how much I've used it. I got a billing history once immediately after I had accessed a page and it showed 1 page for $0.08, of course.

I've used 12/31/05 to out in the future. I've used 12/01/05 to out in the future. Still nothing. Says there's no data to show. UGH!!

BKF, I don't remember exactly what I told them . I basically told them that I didn't understand the method they used to calculate the bills . I said that there was know way that I had opened over 1400 pages of PDF files. Just play crazy and everything should be fine.
