I was discharged in November. I saw my BK attorney last month in the supermarket buying lotto tickets! LMAO! I said "Hi!" He looked at me all puzzled. Now, I'm a "sista" and where I live, I'm pretty sure not many "sistas" pass through his office. The man didn't remember me! Unbelievable. But I thought it was funny he was buying lotto tickets - scratch-offs at that!

That's true - interesting...that is true though...but say if someone has say just say 20 "simple" ch 7 cases per month - my atty bills around $2,000 for that, so that's $40,000 gross/mo...Originally posted by drowning123 View PostAfter I typed that, I thought the same thing, IamOld. LOL. Business shouldn't be slow, but there IS a lot of competition in his business.

I know! That's why maybe a lot of them drag their feet because they have too much iron in the fire. My attorney had no problems with me. I had all my paperwork. He really didn't do much. I was almost pro se and scared - new territory, that's why I needed an attorney.Filed August 20

When I talked to my current attorney in our initial consult, we had built enough rapport that this topic came up. i asked him what his current caseload was in the office that he and his paralegal were dealing with. At that time, he said he had 13 cases set to pay in full and file that month(June) and another 20-30 for july. I did the math in my head and realized that in the not-so-modern office he had, his overhead was relatively low, and if the other two attorneys were carrying the same, they are very profitable. Even if the cases dont go through(especially the ch 13 cases), business hasnt been better for a BK lawyer.Originally posted by IamOld View PostThat's true - interesting...that is true though...but say if someone has say just say 20 "simple" ch 7 cases per month - my atty bills around $2,000 for that, so that's $40,000 gross/mo...Ch 7 filed 8/15/11 341 9/22/11 Discharge 11/28/11
