What do I need to file taxes this year?

I filed BK last year, discharged in August. My house was foreclosed on before I filed. Is there anything in particular I should be waiting for in the mail before I file my taxes? I think I have everything I usually have and most years I would be filing now, but I don't want to file and then get a surprise in my mailbox!

There is nothing you need to "wait" for.

However, you might, at some point receive a 1099-A and/or 1099-C. Just deal with it at that point, but no need to wait for it.

when and if you get one. just ask. there are a ton of threads about the same situation. however, if you filed bk, you need not worry about either the 1099A nor the 1099C.
