Online credit counselling requirement???

Has anyone taken the required credit counselling class online? My attorney said it's online now, and in checking it out (www.cccsinc.org) it looks like there is one online. There are periodic "chats" with live credit counsellors during the course, I guess to make sure you're really getting whatever the course is trying to teach you. What kind of things are covered? What kinds of questions do you have to answer for these chat sessions???

It's a no brainer really. The reason you have to do the "live chats" is to get a code to progress to the next section. They will ask you for all of you debt/income information, they even pull a credit report to help with the numbers. They ask you about your expenses (be careful here, there aren't many categories and it's easy to miss a lot of necessary info)

In the end you get a mego page print out with your certificate. Bottom line is, they get $50 and try to pitch a payment plan to you.

We took the Hummingbird Credit Counseling and Education approved course online at http://www.hummingbirdcreditcounseling.org/ . They don't have chats during, you call in on a toll-free number and talk to a counselor for 10 minutes after finishing the online course. Painless.

Check out all the options and different websites and decide which one will work best for you. Your lawyer (if you are using one) may have a recommendation for the ones he/she thinks is best.
