Help Me With This (aug 2006)

Hello guys, I am Aaron and I am from Ontario Canada. I am 25 years old and filled for BK on May of 2006. After discharge I am hopeful that I will wipe off about $19,000 of debt that I claimed on my BK application. I know $19,000 is not that much of a debt compared to some others, but I felt that it was a good move for me in this stage of my life. I have no assets, single, no kid(s), and consider myself still young at age 25. My trustee informed me that I will be discharged 9 months or so after filling for BK. He also stated that after the 9 months and I am discharged, that his trustee company will get me set up with a pre-paid credit card so that I can proceed to establish new credit and built from there. I recently obtained a high paying desirable job with a financial company, which is somewhat weird but true. My plan is to start being financialy cautious now that I have a better perception about how to be financialy secure. Any feedback or comments on my situation would be greatly appreciated and welcomed.
Now it is time to get down to business. I am fairly new to bankruptcy and don’t know too much in regards to the aftermath of filling for BK. My plan is to just wait and let the time pass by until I am discharged in early 2007. There are some questions I was hopeful that some of you guys can assist me with
    1) What should I do for the time period between now and Feb 2007(Discharge Time)?
    2) Can I obtain a credit card (Not a Pre-paid card) immediately after discharge?
    3) Can I get a wireless phone plan set up now (not yet discharged) or Feb 2007 (after discharge)?
    4) Can I file for BK a 2nd time? If so, what are the stipulations that apply?
    5) How long will it take for me to get major loans(200 plus Ks)

I would appreciate any type of help or comments to my situation and/or questions.

    Thank you guys,

    Aaron

Hi Aaron and welcome. This board focuses on US bankruptcies - I don't know if we have any experts posting here currently who are experienced with Canadian bankruptcy law and how it's different from the US bankruptcy law.

There are several helpful Canadian bankruptcy sites that include information about bankruptcy in Canada and about life after bankruptcy - these can provide reliable answers to some of your questions:

The OSB administers Canada's insolvency system, ensuring compliance, maintaining public records, and offering guidance on debt management options.

Once your bankruptcy is completed, follow this simple step-by-step guide to rebuilding credit after bankruptcy. Learn more today.

Hope this helps and good luck to you!
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
