    No Income, No Tax Return

My husband's case was discharged so I took the leap since I have some bills in my name that have become unmanageable. I don't have any income. He does. The trustee's office called me and told me they needed my tax returns. Well, I have no tax returns. I haven't filed in the past 5 years because I haven't had enough income. Does anyone know what will happen to my case ? I guess I could get a statement from the IRS saying I didn't file. The trustee won't make me file if I have no income or not enough will they ?

Contact the Trustee and advise him/her that you did not file returns due to lack of income. Should not be a problem.

I did and they told me to file an affidavit stating I do not have income, therefore I have not filed taxes. Which I did. I found a sample letter online and had it notarized.

The simple solutions usually work best. Glad it was resolved.
