    Hello again...

I'm a very fortunate healthcare IT professional living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I love rainy days and good food. I'm an avid supporter of both the Oxford comma and the em-dash, so now everyone thinks I'm an AI chatbot, including people I meet at the Fred Meyer. I was a member of this forum years ago and am still grateful for the advice and support, but I can't remember my old login credentials so here I am as someone new.

My wife and I try to keep our 4 teenagers and 2 dogs from destroying the house, our sanity, and each other, with varying degrees of success.

    Welcome to BKForum!

Since taking scholarly writing and serving on the editorial board of a professional journal, the em dash and Oxford comma have become staples of my formal writing. Unfortunately, as you observed, I now have to make a conscious effort not to overuse them. I have also been accused of sounding like a bot. C’est la vie.
