Hello! I am so happy you guys are still here. I was here 8 years ago and you guys helped me. Even with the judge told me only millionaires can file bankruptcy. You guys told me the judge did not know the law, and you forced him to do it. How is that even posisble?

Where do I begin guys? I forgot. The self-help sites are not helpful. I was going through the massive pile of forms needed, but I think a lot of them are not actually needed. What do I actually file?

Just a married couple with credit card debt. I am on Social Security disability for $250 a month and we have 9 kids. So I know we don't qualify for fee waiver anymore. I am disabled, so if any of you can point me to where on this site it might give me a list of what to file, I can try to do the rest of the leg work myself.

Why would you not qualify for the fee waiver? Is your income over the median? You can always file an application for waiver and if you don't qualify the court will at least let you pay in installments.

There is no place on BKForum to tell you exactly which forms to file. The best location is your local district's website. For example, FLMB (Florida Middle) provides an excellent source for what you need to file (see link below). There could be "local" forms and that's why it's always incumbent on the pro se debtor to look at the actual district's requirements to file.

Oh, that list is WAY shorter than the forms list I was told to file, which had about 100 different times on it! Thank you! I am not sure why I could not find that. I can definitely say to any new members on here, that the people on this site are some of the most helpful people I have met online. I suppose we are all part of some strange club in a way...

I don't see why not. It is the judge, assisnted to your case, that decides on a per-person basis whether or not you can afford to have the filing fee waived. In my experience, so long as you have less than approximately $100/month in disposable monthly income, the judge will approve the fee waiver.

The list is split by Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 (and even Chapter 11). You have to look at the links on the page and then follow the link for Chapter 7. Whether you need additional forms or local forms are case specific. For example, you may need the form to report that you are a member of the military. If not, you don't need the form. There are other examples, but there are essentially the base filing forms and then the supplemental forms.

Your district should have something similar.

Example: Central District of California Bankruptcy breaks it down by Chapter and haas "packages" for the pro se filer.
