I liked Greece. Reminds me of the Olympics. And the Crapping Sailors is too funny!!

But I think my fav of all is St. Peters. It's always beautiful, but hardly any pics ever give you the feel for how high the ceiling really is. Awesome!!

So beautiful, HHM! There's something so wonderful about seeing other places through someone else's eyes - what a fabulous trip you had. What was so surprising about Cambodia?

These photos were well worth the wait. This is like taking a virtual vacation (the only one most of us can afford at the moment ) - thanks so much for sharing your trip with us!

Regarding Cambodia...

The people were resolutely happy and polite...Thailand is supposed to known as the land of smiles, but Cambodia has Thailand beat. At least in Siem Reap and Phnom Pehn (the two places I visited in Cambodia)...the infrastructure is sufficiently developed (but there are still dirt roads)...in addition, you practically get your own tuk tuk driver for your entire stay for about $8.00 per day. Meaning, they take you where ever you want to go, wait for you, take you to the next place and so on, and will ask what time the next day to pick you up, and do so. Just a very pleasant place to visit. In Siem Reap, you can explore the ruins and retire to 5 star dining. As bad as it may sound, it really gave you sense of what it must have been like during the French Colonial days.

GREAT Pics man. I'm so jealous

I want to go to Thailand so bad!! Also Rio and Florianopolis Brazil.

Did you have any problems with language barriers or were you already prepared with some basics? I hope by the time I'm able to take a vacation (years from now) I will have my mind made up and be fluent in the basics of Portuguese and Thai.

The only language barrier problems were, surprisingly, in Greece and Italy. S.E. Asia has pretty much adopted English as a second language, especially in Malaysia. And of course, they speak English in New Zealand (although, that doesn't mean you can understand them, I sure didn't...my spouse is much better with understanding broken or accented english than I).

Thus, if you are going to Thailand, you don't really need to learn Thai (it's all cherps and whistles anyway).

HH, some of the pics are extremely high quality. Obviously you read your manual, more please? Do you have a plce to post in full file size? Or start a webshots account, the pics are excellent, thoughtful and well framed and they need to be shared.
