Somebody stinking broke into my van last night and stole my purse and laptop. I know - stupid to leave stuff like that in a car. I had gotten home really late last night and was just thinking about getting my kids to bed. I live in a small town about 2 blocks away from the polics station. Talk about false sense of security. The theft is screwing me up but the thieves sure aren't going to get much out of it. I have no credit cards, no cash at all in the purse, my laptop is from work and has really good security on it so they can't do any more than turn it on unless they find some computer genius to hack around it. I had some teaching books and papers in my computer bag and my certificate of bankruptcy class completion (I was going to mail that out today). Maybe they'll feel sorry for me and give [B]me[B] some money
Jerks - they totally through me off and it's all for nothing.
I'm trying to look at the good side of this (if there is one!?) I get paid tomorrow and I'm going to the cash envelope system. It's a good thing I learned my lesson now when there wasn't as much to lose.

possible warnings, notices, reprimands, or even disciplines could result... please read recent news on some US veteran adminstrators let their employees carrying personal/sensitive data on laptop home and get lost to thieves then you will know more...
I am guilty of ALWAYS leaving my purse in the car and most of the time my car is unlocked, but I never have any money, so nobody would get anything anyway. I live in the country and I guess I never worry about it. I am so sorry that happened to you.
