You opinion is due to the phenomenon known as "whiteness", and this is what perpetuates rascism in this country amongst whites. Hell, polls show that the preacher scandal isn't even affecting Obama much. More importantly, whites are even defending and supporting the talk of the reverend, so what's your point? The media and is just quick to tossing around the reverse racism card at Obama's constiuents and the like in attempt to hurt his position in the race for president. Obama's reverend is no more of a racist that Bush, Cheney, Clinton and every other president this country has had. The man was speaking the truth and many people realize this---including many whites, and non=blacks.

do Bush, Cheney, Clinton go to churches that preachers talk strictly about the white community? YOu make it sound like all preachers are the same as Obamas but they're not.

I do not care if Obama wins or not & that has nothing to do with my view, That will not change my opinon about his church being racist & the remarks of his wife as well.

I never heard Bushes wife or Clintons wife calling their husbands 'white' and saying stupid stuff like that.

So what exactly does the chickens are coming home to roost, mean?

I feel very confident that more than half of the country would disagree with you that they need to be educated on what racism or socialism is to have an opinion of racist remarks as that church is very much so viewed as racist by highly educated people including those with black skin.

On the other hand do you seem to think you have to burn people or hang them or be some kind of Hitler to be a racist? or say something like I hate white people & I hate black people? Is that what you think it is? How do you define race racism as that seems to be what you are doing?

I think that our country is so very disgusted with Bush's invasion of Iraq under false pretenses (aka lies) and our 4,000 needlessly dead soldiers, that the majority of the electorate will have Iraq vividly in their mind when they go to the polls in November. That, and the economy, of course.

And the electorate will also remember that BOTH McCain and Hillary voted for the war as well as for every single additional penny or concession Bush asked for, for his Iraq war. Obama voted against. And I think that that, alone, makes him stand out.

I don't think Obama looks down on Clinton "because she's a woman." I think Obama is quite modern and enlightened and doesn't look down on people because of their gender or race. And FYI, there are very, very few "business dresses" out there, and if a woman wears something that is even slightly feminine, the media is sure to report that she's trying to "sex" her way into the election (or the job, or the promotion...). Women in politics have a very tough job just dressing, because whatever they choose to wear, they will be attacked one way or the other.

These are the very SAME Republicans who "swiftboated" McCain back in 2000, who trivialized his war record and his war injuries, who attacked his family and even his sister who had breast cancer. Amazing how the mixture of desperation and hypocrisy works...

I do notice, however, that McCain is making MANY mistakes. Far more than he did back in 2000. I wonder if his age has anything to do with it? I have absolutely nothing against seniors, mind you, but after Reagan's well-documented second term where his Alzheimer's was already evident, I worry about any future president not being "all there" --- particularly at this critical time in history thanks to Bush's war and our alarming economy.

P.S. I always wished McCain were a Dem. I just love his direct approach and his self-confidence when it comes to going against the President and his own party line. I'm basically sick of both parties' flocks of SHEEP.

I do wish Clinton would stop wearing pant suits all the time & come out looking like a lady in a nice business dress. That would be refreshing!

McCain has to hate Bush since almost the entire repy party is against Bush now because the big boys are also starting to feel the pinch of him doing bad business. I know so many hard core reps who would never dream of voting dem, stayed in denial all 8 years BUT! have already made their choice to vote for a demy.

I don't have much good to say about any of them or the entire voting system & I purposely look for their lies & bickering with each other. Makes for a good discussion telling what I see instead of trying to make excuses for the flaws and Instead of me expecting some holy messiah to deliver us, I see their inconsistancy just to have votes & power.

I think you are correct about the 'swiftboating' & backstabbing together and how that works & McCain is a good example of what happens. It is kind of sad in a way.

At least Obama knows what is going on & has the facts straight. McCain thinks Iran & Telaban is the same thing. The guy has made so many mistakes & can hardly walk over his own talk. I think he also got that from his 'conservative' crap speeches.

I feel those republicans were just very desperate to get Bush out & would take anything as McCain would be better than Bush.

Obama or Clinton is a way better pick than McCain.

It sucks we have to choose this way but I choose none of them as both of the ones I liked did not lie enough to get this far.

The most recent polls appear to indicate that the Pastor Wright issue didn't hurt Obama very much. That was in today's news. Don't know what it will be like tomorrow or the day after, though... Things seem to change daily.

There's no way I can vote for McCain, though. And there's also no way I won't exercise my right and DUTY to vote. I'd vote for Hillary over McCain hands down, even though I can't stand her as a person. So it's a dilemma that I hope will solve itself soon when the Dem nomination is decided.

Obama was able to earn many peoples understanding/forgiveness because there wasn't any "hate" talk, that you would hear from the mouths of the KKK, or Aryan. It was Obama that said he needs to distant himself from his pastor if he wants to win. "Dont tell me words don't matter." is his own speech. Maybe it is Michelle who he needs to distance himself from. LOL!

The fact that both a black man & a white woman are running for president shows me that the inequalities are not as great as you might think they are.

It is like they just slip through holes from time to time because they lie so well & the public believes them.

My alderman up here may run for mayor & if she does I am going all out campaigning for her. It would be the first I have ever done something like that. When you find a good one you dont want to let them go & make sure you do them right because they will also do you right. She has helped so many people & works very well with the that lost connection that happens between the city council & the people. When you can meet the ones from the Mayor on down there are a lot of good ones doing hard sincere work. It is after the governer & the senate & house that you really start to see problems & the mind starts to change, or so that is what I see.

I worked with a young man from cuba many years ago. His dad was from Cuba during the very mean times of Castro. I learned all about their culture & that same generation you speak of I know about & they are good, reliable, hard working people. They had settled in Hialeah when they first moved to the states!! LOL. I will never forget them. Glad the old showboat is out & you got a good one for a long while & I really mean that too.

Nah, I'm a ranter to... and I agree. I consider myself to be working for a Great Mayor, Carlos Alvarez. this guy is a refreshing change from Penelas. Not a showboater and a very down to earth guy. He is a Hialeah (Hialeah ain't all bad or all good, the Georgia cracker types could be mean also and back in the 70's they RAN Hialeah!) boy from my day, I know that he is from first generation a hard working Cuban family. I hope his career is very long, Miami-Dade needs a break, a nice place whacked with a hundred baseball bats in forty years. People down the place, me included, but I still love it and am glad he was elected, a good man.

This place had major problems when the Georgia boys (a nasty, redneck old Miami crowd and my first bosses) like Steve Clark ran it, he was a crook deluxe but so fat from the public trough that he did the County some good in the end. Of all, Ferre, clark, etc... I like Carlos Alvarez the best.

Everyone has a right to speak their mind, whether or not they vote. However, I take my right to vote very seriously and NEVER miss a vote, even if it's a "lowly" local election. I think that these days, with absentee and early voting available, there really isn't an excuse for an American not to vote each and every time.

I had a long debate about this with someone who set themselves up on a pedastal above everyone else because he votes & others do not. It was an attempt on a power trip to play a ghost in the attic.

I have voted many times & there are times that I do not vote but I do not exalt myself just for voting & I do not put myself down when I have not voted.

I understand the sick psychiatry like you mention and not all of them are that way. Bush has abused his authority & could care less about his country. He wants the power for himself & his clowns pockets & not to make our nation better. yOu will still get more done with sugar than with vinegar & this is why Bush has failed repeatedly. Cheney is another one dealing himself the aces & kings one term too many. He cant stand the polls about himself. Too bad!

I Know a handful here for city & county & they are not like that. The people love them for helping & being sincere & the people work together to make things better. I realize they cannot be totally honest all the time but that I also believe there is such a thing as lying in love.

Powell was a good man & did well. Reagan did well. Clintons are still very well liked by all communities. I feel Obama does have good chraracter except for this last episode that put him in a d*** if you do & d**** if you dont position. Carter was a decent man.
