Stingray City in Grand Cayman

Anyone ever been?
I am considering going when I go to the Cayman islands at the end of the month, but wanted some feedback.

It was very neat. I'm glad I can say I did it. However, I ended up getting back in the boat because I didn't like these stingrays with 5 and 6' wingspan coming up out of nowhere and brushing up against my legs. Not for the lighthearted. My husband loved it. I would have had I always been able to see them coming at me but they were everywhere.

It's a great place to visit, especially if you like snorkeling. The stingrays are all tame and swim with you in about 4 feet of water. Some of the best snorkeling I've ever done was in Grand Cayman.

While you're there, be sure to visit Hell. That way you can honestly say you've "been to Hell and back." You can even send postcards postmarked at the official Hell post office.

Love love love Grand Cayman and loved stingray city. BUT - I highly recommend that if you go with a group of people, let them go in first. There was way too much commotion. The stingrays are very friendly and come right away but with all that commotion (of many people) & water splashing - I saw a recipe for disaster. I went in after everyone had their fill and it was a very pleasant experience.

I've been there. That place scared me. I'm only five feet tall, and those darn things nearly knocked me over. It is cool.

Hell was super cool too!!! If you have time, go there. And mail yourself a postcard from there. It's funny to get mail from a place with a postmark of Hell.

I went a few years back and it was wonderful. I was there as a diver though, so my "small" (approx 25) group of people were able to go a little off to the side of Stingray City and have fun with them without being mobbed like the rest of the tourists.
