    HELP with replacement Dyson part?

I was vacuuming out our cars when my friend decided to back up and drove over the end of my dyson hand wand.

    it's pretty much toast.

Without the wand, the vacuum is pretty useless except for hands and knees cleaning.

Does anybody know where I could get a replacement wand?

    Thanks

Ouch, that was a really unfortunate accident!

I would try http://www.dyson.com/store/ first and select your vacuum type and model to see what parts and accessories are available. I recently bought a new Dyson Animal and it came with a list of replacement parts but they are all proprietary to that Dyson Animal DC-17. However, the entire booklet keeps referring to the Dyson home link above. Check it out and I hope you find your part, because Dysons are simply fabulous machines.

Our wand also broke and I called up Dyson and they sent us a new one for free. There is a 5 year parts and labor warranty on it, so as long as you purchased it less than 5 years ago, they will send you the new part for free.

Be sure to have your serial number ready when you call.

Oh thanks! I'll try that. But mine is remanufactured, so I don't think I'll get the 5 year, but you never know.

Meantime, I hacksawed the bent part off the wand. Had to seriously stuff it into the flex hose. Was kinda funny. Figured the wand was a lost cause anyway and I didn't loose much by trying.

We had no idea that Dyson had that kind of warranty until my husband was watching the home shopping network. There was a Dyson representative on the show and he went on and on about their 5 year warranty. Sure enough, I called up and it was covered!

Glad I could help! Good luck!

That is good to know. I have a Dyson and absolutely love it. Had it 6 months so far, no broken parts. Fingers crossed. I can't say enough about a Dyson! Pricey but worth every penny.

I called up Dyson. But my vacuum is remanufactured, so it's no longer covered. Bummer.

Also depends on the purchase date. I bought a dc07 a few years back, you know, when the Dyson guy himself still came on the commercials, etc.? The 5 year warranty has only been in effect for a couple of years, so mine is also out of warranty. Not a big deal, because the issue I had with mine was fixed over the phone, but still.

I've got asthma, along with my 2 little ones, so having a Dyson is worth it for us!
