Gas Thieves Puncture Tanks, Steal Fuel; SUVs Easier Targets

We have a lock on our gas cap, that uses a key. I guess that will a) deter them or b) make them puncture my gas tank. Eeek cant win, I also have a glock 40 cal

I put in $20 last night...since it's been on E, I just went w/the premium because of all the gunk that probably got churned up...I think I got little over 1/4 of a tank for my money....back to the bus....must go shopping for light weight clothing...too darn hot in FL...83 10 a.m. feels like 88 according to my weather page...and it's not even noon...

I'm losing my current job at the end of September and am just hoping and praying that I'll be reassigned somewhere downtown, so that I can ride public transportation again!

I rode school buses as a kid through high school, and have used public transit periodically when my car has been in the shop, or when I was between vehicles, or when I voluntarily loaned my car to my son who needed it more than I did at the time (his was totalled in an accident and the insurance company took forever to pay).

I have no problem at all using public transportation. A bonus is that I get to read the newspaper on the way to work, instead of being stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic with rude drivers cutting in front of me!

I just bought a one month pass for the bus, just to see how it is going to go around here. I stopped & chatted with some of the drivers last night & they said, "please dont make us feel bad that you have to switch from driving to pooling," and ensured me that I would like it.

I also took the city bus for many years when going thru grade school (it was a blast then) to high school & also used it every day when I lived in Southern California to get to work & I recall it as a relaxing ride without the chaos & heckle or road rage all over the place. Only I noticed a lot more ick on the bus out west than what I see here.

It is running me close to 200.00 a month just in fuel to get back & forth to work (which is cheap compared to a lot of people) & this will cut it down to 45.00 a month. I will still have my truck to drive whenever I need it but the daily commute to work & back will be much easier & less stressful. Then I will also use the bus to get to the gym where I work out.

One thing I liked are the bike racks. So if someone has to walk/cycle a few blocks it will help in excercise &/or get some of the extra flab off

Car pool & van pool is another popular thing. I expect gas to reach 8.00 to 10.00 a gallon by this time next year & we are going to see a lot of people riding the bus

Listen, my gas to work and back $80/mo....bus $30...not hard to figure out...

There may be "car" days if it's pouring rain, or running late, but once gas gets to $4.50/gal...that will start to be costly if I'm late...rain, can't help, but get an umbrella...
