I don't recall saying you said people shouldn't complain.

I also did not say that everyone in your area makes good money. I am sure you have homeless and poor as well. I was going by the United States Department of Labor as far as average incomes go. Your area is about $15,000 dollars MORE per year than where I am.
For EVERYONE in every area of this country gas feels expensive. If its $4.75 or $4.00. We have all increased at about the same rate. East Coast...West Coast.

I was responding to your comment "I think we all have reason to complain".

I am not sure where you live at, but in the city I live in the average income is higher than most cities in the San Diego area. And there isn't any homeless here, but there are plenty in other areas. I see many when I volunteer at the soup kitchen.

I agree gas is going up everywhere and it isn't going to change anytime soon. Just like the price of food.

Complaining, not me. I knew my SUV was prem only, I knew SD had high gas when I bought it and I will continue to fill it up. So enjoy hating on the SUV driver in me.

These prices are causing worldwide turmoil, just look at Europe the past few days.
see below for a quick history on oil.. its NOT a resource that is renewable or one that has a indefinite supply..

                  So right and so wrong......

You are correct on this count...we are not running out of oil. We are just not allowed to drill for it in this country and are being forced to buy it elsewhere.

But you are wrong on another count. There are people controlling, or at least fueling the drastic increases. People betting on commodities. Some of our politicians included, people making a profit in the most despicable way.

So again , you are right ...... people are laughing all the way to the bank.

This has nothing to do with global warming, by the way, unless you start to factor in the environmentalists that have successfully stopped us from tapping our own natural resources by playing that weather card.

I worked in the Bus division for 19.6 years and have been at Rail for 6 years. I DON'T want to be Western Europe but the US is far behind. Nashville to me has a n excellent plan. Get the people in the TAX PAYING neighborhoods hooked on the system before you build dedicated lines and you will get support to build. They are going out to nicer areas first like like Lebanon and Mt. Joliet. Screw the inner City jargon, our main riders come from nicer areas in the south part of the County, they are the working tax base. Nashville is using existing lines with existing cars before they build a dedicated system, SMART.

Would be a beautiful thing, but there is no way that mass transit is ever going to work in an area like Southern California...sheer logistics is the major factor but there are others....Oh, our politicians spout about it, but our politicians, for the most part and from either party, are idiots.

I'm sorry, I should've used my words a little better (I was going on very little sleep) and I agree with you......so please excuse the way I worded it. There are people controlling it, doing exactly what you said, plus by using the theory that we will run out. I can't see how they know we will run out. like I said, I just think the hot center core of this earth is a constant producer of it, just have to find the spots to get it.......just my opinion.
