I think it's funny that they have decided this is a good place to help win support.

OMG!! I was just coming here to post this!!!
I feel like he is being shoved down my throat. That smile is starting to really bug me. For some reason right at this moment I see him and all I think about is President Bush. I am still in the pre-discharge stage and I think that might affect my thinking.
I know the site needs to make money so I take light of it. I just hope he is paying more than any other advertiser. This is probably the worst place for him to be looking for support.
Sure sign the gas tax thing and then what? Darn milk will be $6.00 a gallon??? This is not without some sort of backlash.Last edited by momof5; 06-12-2008, 04:42 AM.5/29 Filed 7~ 341-on 6/24

As far as I'm concerned, we have nobody to vote for. McCain is a Democrat in an elephant suit. I don't trust Obama, I think he is unstable in loyalty to t his Country first. He is a great speech club member, but I have yet to see substance. I have yet to see what the h*ll he's going to change. After his tax raises that is all we will have in our pockets is a little change. 'HubIf I knew it all, would I be here?? Did anyone see the video on youtube where BO said he had been to 57 states and had 1 to go and that didn't include Alaska and Hawaii? Google "youtube Obama 57 states" If McCain or Hillary had said that it would be all over the media! The media is 100% biased toward Obama.
Not crazy about Hillary but I do think she was treated unfairly. I do like McCain for the most part. At least he is by far the most experienced and in such an important job, we don't need a novice, no matter how much of a "rock star" of "media darling" he is. Guess everybody will be mad at me now, but I could never vote for Obama - I think he is all hype and no substance - but even worse - no experience and has shown bad judgment.Filed Ch 7 -- July 9, 2008

I'm not really a "political person" so to speak, but I do vote, look at the issues, and whose qualified and whose not.......
Basically, who ever goes into office this time around has got a mess to clean up, issues and big problems to address (here at home and overseas), and economic problems, health issues, war issues, environmental issues,etc.....
Personally, I don't envy them at all........ some things their hands will be tied by political parties and lobbyists.
It will be like beating their head against a "brick wall"........
Here's hoping that they at least solve "one problem" if they can....... any one of them!!!
Our candidates this time around have been "old school" - "new school" and the "mother touch".........
One candidate offers "change", one offers "solutions", and one says "I will work for you"................
We'll see who wins, and if they do like they say they will do.......
Time and history will tell...........Minny

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

<<<I just think it's ironic because McCain was behind the legislation that changed the bankruptcy laws so much. He made it harder for us and now he's trying to get our votes>>>
Yeah I know - and the new law sucks. It has not made the bankruptcy rate go down - its gone up!!!
But then, I can't blame McCain or anyone else in Washington for my debt problems - my and my husband's naive choices got us into this mess - that, along with an evil predator creditor crazy guy who apparently is so out of touch with reality he can't believe anyone could be as poor as us.
I don't agree with everything he (McCain) says, but I do think he seems pretty honest and real, which I can't say for the other one.Last edited by PoorGrammyinBK7; 06-13-2008, 06:33 AM.Filed Ch 7 -- July 9, 2008

Abraham Lincoln had very little "experience" before becoming president and ended up being one of our best ever.
We've seen what our current "old school" politicians have created - a huge mess with the US sliding downhill at a rapid pace here at home and globally....all so some very rich people could get even richer. Time for a change of thinking and approach. That isn't going to happen with McCain. It will happen with Obama.
Most of the bad press on Obama and McCain are exaggerations or outright lies. The spin masters are at work - don't believe anything you hear unless you check it out first. For example, the voting record for Obama discussed earlier - not true - he missed 251 votes (45.2%) http://projects.washingtonpost.com/c...mbers/o000167/. In fact, McCain missed more Senate votes than Obama - 359 votes (60.8%) - http://projects.washingtonpost.com/c...mbers/m000303/. The best voting record in the Senate of the three candidates belonged to Hillary Clinton - 192 votes (32.5%) - http://projects.washingtonpost.com/c...mbers/c001041/.
Time to get the "smell-o-meters" out and sniff at every rumor you hear. Most are exaggerations pointing out only what makes the point of whoever is promoting it. Some are outright lies. Be sure to check out these rumors before passing them on - that does an injustice to either candidate. Vote on the FACTS, not on rumors and lies.Last edited by lrprn; 06-13-2008, 06:22 AM.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

So was it McCain or the gov't that made you have to file?
And before you think it, I am not a Republican.

Cali,
I don't think I said that I was made to file. I'm not blaming anyone but myself for my situation. I was just pointing out a fact. He did cote for the major changes that happened in 2005 to reform the bankruptcy codes.Filed Chapter 13 05/23/08

Actually McCain and Obama missed more if you count the present votes......but yes Hillary had the best voting record out of all Republican/Democrat candidates as far as actually showing up and voting (Yes she had a better record than Kucinich, Hunter, Paul, etc as well). She also had the fewest present votes of any of the R and D candidates. McCain though did miss more votes than Obama. (Never have disputed that and I posted that someplace though I can't remember where don't think it was here, I had a breakdown based on all kinds of factors...using stuff at vote smart and congressional records to do it).Originally posted by lrprn View PostAbraham Lincoln had very little "experience" before becoming president and ended up being one of our best ever.

Don't be fooled though Obama is a professional politician, and always has been. Every action he takes is calculated towards that. McCain is as well.May 31st, 2007: Petition Filed by my lawyer

Oh boy this topic got a little touchy. I just found it kind of funny that ANY presidential hopeful would come to a BK site to advertise. No matter republican or democrat.... I guess we should all take it as a compliment. Not everyone thinks were the bottom of the human race at this moment. Our votes are worth more than money to these guys.
I think I am going to go visit the Obama site. Get the word out that this is a great place to advertise. McCain is! *lol*. Hey anything to bring some more money to our favorite place!!!Last edited by momof5; 06-13-2008, 11:59 AM.5/29 Filed 7~ 341-on 6/24
