This may have been asked before, forgive me if so. It's just lately I've had some things in common with other posters, and have even seen my locale pop up in threads..It occurred to me my neighbor, friend, or fellow school parent could be posting on here with me, side by side, never knowing. I don't know, just seemed weird to me all of a sudden!!! I know when I went to the 341 last week I kept thinking how odd it would be to see someone you knew--though not completely out of the realm of possibility..and of course, they'd be there for the same reasons as we were, so no shame there!!

Well the thought did cross my mind, but I don't see many from Indiana. I would welcome talking to someone local though. I think it would great to have some close to go have coffee with and share our BK story. I think seeing a familiar face at the 341 would somehow be comforting. However we choose an attorney that was not local (ours is about 30 miles away in another small town) because the decorating job has put me in many local attorney's homes and I did not want them to know. Stupid huh?

Not one bit! I don't think any thought we have during this process--seemingly rational or irrational is stupid one bit!!! I have the same feelings about acquaintances who are in real estate and who may have access to sites that will divulge a little TOO much personal data about the status of my housing situation, but, it is what it is, and for that reason I'll be awfully darned careful not to "white lie" to these particular individuals!

Hi Martha13: This is a very natural question. For one thing, with the economy the way it is, and for the many of us that share similar circumstances, it is logical that when one poster posts their problems, many will identify.

So far, 'Hub and I have not recognized anyone that we know, besides knowing each other, LOL.

Yesterday, we were priviledged to meet 'FreshLikeADaisy', and have her sit in on our hearing with us. It was very refreshing to talk with someone who has been there, done that--look at our situation with objective eyes, and suggest courses of action to follow. We were and are very grateful for her input, and I hope all of you will have a similar situation happen in your own cases.

I haven't recognized anyones style of writinng. However, I have recomended this site to at least three people. One who I was recomending should look at filing who did file, one who I recommended should look at filing who is still considering it, and one who had already filed and is in a chapter 13. I don't know if they ever visited or not. But, if they do, I sometimes wonder if they recognize me when I post.

Funny you should bring this up...I was here yesterday and saw a "new poster" here and by the few things that were stated in the post, I was sure it was someone that I knew! I immediately went to my home page and deleted personal pics of my animals (this person would recongize them too!) and along with my name, then they would put two and two together! I know, I'm being silly, because obviously we are both in the same boat....but still

I've also wondered where posters are and if they could be my neighbors, but just before I was called up to the table at my 341 meeting, that feeling went away. I recognized 2 people in there (not close friends, just familiar faces) and for some reason it didn't phase me at all. I wasn't embarassed or anything. Mostly because I realized that we were all there for the same reason and no one was there to pass judgement on me.

But I do wonder about the families in my neighborhood that seem to disappear in the middle of the night and what the circumstances were to force them to suddenly move.

My hubby and I have been very open about what we are going through. Not only does it help us in a "therapy" sort of way, it also lets family and friends know that others are struggling and we can be there to help them. When we went to our 341, neighbors of ours sat down right beside us. They had kept it a secret from every one. I think they felt better after someone knew. It's a relief to not hide things from people. In a district as big as ours, we were actually surprised that we had the same time, date, and trustee.

Liz, this should mean that we may get a better deal as if we see it, they see it and start pushing 'em through. 'Hub
