Chicago Cubs-Best Record in the Majors!

Not sure if there any Chicago Cubs fans here in the forum.. Looks like the planets have aligned for the Cubbies this year on the 100th anniversary of their last world series win.. I'm pretty psyched heading into Sept with the best record and also the White Sox in first place in their division...

Im not a huge baseball fan, but being in Saint Louis I have learned if I don't root against the cubs I could be attacked any second.

    Boo Cubs.

Go Cubbies!!! Although I like the White Sox too. I was born on the north side of Chicago but lived on the south side for many years. In Chicago you have to pick one team or the other otherwise you are not a true fan. I go with the winners and right now they are both on top.

Well, I used to be a fan of both. How is that? I was once upon a time a very big Cub fan. I could name the batting lineup by heart- back when Jody Davis was catcher, the Penguin played third, and Bull Durham was THE relief pitcher they went to. I am afraid that last baseball strike did us in. We used to always watch the Cubs, Cards, and Braves. But we went so long without, that last strike, that we got out of the habit of watching. That and my baseball pitcher son graduated. We will now occasionally watch a playoff game. For nostalgia sake I just turned it over to the Cubs. They are up on the Pirates right now by one( either that or down by one, my eyes are getting so bad I can't tell the difference on the tv screen between a 6 and an 8)

OK, they were UP by one. Now they are down by one. Top of the 8th, bases loaded, no out, 3-2 count......... He walked, game tied. I think I could rapidly get back into it.

Is now 10-8, still top of 8th.

            <whisper> Go Cubbies!!!</whisper>
