Work, work, work (Whoohoo!) work, work

Yep like the thread shows. Work. Lots of it too. I spoke with production manager who showed me orders for the part I make (Handrest for gaming company and I'm an addicted gambler...go figure!) and they want 500+ pcs a week.

I'm good, I'm darn good at my job, but can only do 45-50 pcs daily. Night shift does 30-40 pcs (Ok, they are still new) so this means a weekly shortfall of 10-25 pcs.

Meaning?? Yep LOTS OF OVERTIME. And I sure can use it.

As I type this, it's 1:45 am here (West Coast) and I've been up since 12:35am and have to start work at 4am and have to walk 3 miles to work (no car) and so, this means (Take home) about $500 weekly.

If it holds out for say 1-2 months, maybe beater car just for work and grocery shopping. Which means more time to sleep.

Excellent for you!...possible tip as to your walk. Having a daughter who used to live in downtown Philadelphia and just like in New York, having a car could be an issue due to parking. Lots of folks had scooters (foot propelled), bikes and roller bladed to/from work/other locations instead of driving (if you moved your car, your space was lost and you would have to park blocks away if you still could find a space).

While true, I actually HAD a bike..Believe me, those Target bargains end up costing you more.

A "Decent" bike (Not talking hill climbing monster and such) would be $400-$800 You want heavy duty? Try $1,200-$2K

I could hit the local pawn shops, but considering that the winter is setting in, I'd rather risk driving, then riding a bike. Of course, it gets real bad, I stay home

Yes, that's short for "pieces" of which each handrest counts for 1 piece.

We have standing order for 500+ (As many as we can make) weekly. There's just no way to do that at this time.

I "Could" get the mold set right, take me an hour or so, but the engineer, doesn't "Feel Safe" letting me adjust the mold, even though I've done it quite a few times before, with excellent results.

Soooo..Fine and dandy, let's me have plenty of OT and if things work right, a nice start towards saving for that nice lawyer down the street (Yes, I actually have a bankruptcy service a couple of blocks away from me!! Go figure!!)
