I'm wondering how it's going to play out. These banksters are committing fraud (again). How can they go into a court with all of those bogus signatures and expect to foreclose?

I actually see this as another looming crisis. They will never be able to buy back all of those millions of mortgages or be able to find all of the owners of the paper.

It really stinks how middle aged people are getting the shaft when it comes to applying for jobs. My DH lost his job of 19 yr. in 2007, he has a college degree, and an excellent resume in top sales spanning 30+ years. His job hunting has been abysmal. He was passed over for 4 really good jobs, and we believe it was his age, he was told for each of these positions that it was between him and one other person, and the other person got the job every time! He is working as underemployed, making far less than he did at his previous good job. Our son who just graduated college last year, moved to another city in Ohio, got a very good job within 2 weeks of his move, has gotten several offers for other jobs this past year. Our oldest son graduates in May with his masters degree and has already landed a six figure job starting in June. We are thrilled for them both, but we see a definate bias in hiring age wise, absolutely!

What's with all the doom and gloom guys? Could be worse, we could be living in North Korea.

On a positive(?) note us old folks will probably be gone before it really gets bad-I worry about what will be left for our grandkids. Not much I'm afraid.

Yes Tobee, my wife worked and still does nine years at a local college library. She has been pleading for full time for years. She is far qualified and has a Masters degree and all the other stuff including expert computer education in hardware and software. The main librarian was to retire and when he did, a 30 year old 'kid' was hired outside of the loop, full time as the administrator. He has no real experience and Mrs. with her silver gray hair, is still working part time. But it's illegal to age discriminate, I've been told. And Govmint wouldn't lie to us I'm sure. Yeah sure. me me me!! i can spell socialism !! LOL...

hub, i'm watching the sunday morning news on cbs...and this news just finished a story about how those over 50 and unemployed are SOL....and this is going to have and incrediable far and wide negative effects on the entire country, the likes that no one really understands now. (i really don't know what that exactly means)

an experiment, 200 applications were sent out using different birth dates....( by work experience and listing school grad dates),.and yes what?? 40% of the "youngest" group got a call back..and NONE of the "older" group. this report was done by boston u and rutgers...that was funny both are my old alumni , and i guess they both partnered on this study.

so this this morning i'm watching about how i'll never work again and thanks to cat, tonight, i'll find out more about the lousy fraud that banks are getting a way with
