The new release is limited to 786 bottles, the number of decanters that can be taken from one tiercon, the type of oak barrel used by Rémy Martin to age Louis XIII. The spirit is created from 1,200 eaux de vie aged 40 100 years. The Louis XIII Black Pearl decanter is made of crystal that has a silvery gleam like polished hematite and the decanter is finished with platinum fleur de lis designs.

    Frogger... you'd have to file for bankruptcy right after purchasing that bottle! I remember a bar that was serving shots of a Louis liquor for $200 each. I watched as someone ordered 20 of them for a business deal that was just reached.

    For this particular bottle, you'd need to charge AT LEAST $950/shot, and that's just to break even!

              Apparently, it is such a "treat" to have such a liquor, that after the businessmen left -- they only stayed for the toast -- patrons and perhaps some waitstaff, descended upon the leftover liquor. Apparently, when you down a shot, some of the liquor still coats the inside of the shot glass. I saw at least one person rub their finger inside one of the empty shot glasses so that they could lick the residue from the liquor from their finger. Apparently the liquor was that good.

              Looked like little children licking the bowl after mom just completed mixing a cake!

                  Yes, it was disgusting but it as also amusing! You know... it's like the bad accident on the highway that you really don't want to look at, but you do!

                    just be glad it was just their finger and not their tongues! I woulda died...the look of disgust and awe would've been very apparent on my face even with the finger incident! LOL
