yes, we do everything via email and he always files electronically for me. after he's done he just sends it as a pdf and that's that. or so i thought!!

i'm telling you i'm STILL in shock! i guess today i will find out if the irs accepted the 2011 return electronically. he said it takes approx 24 hours or so for the rejections. although, i don't know why the guy at the irs would have had me instruct him to resubmit it.

of COURSE it had to be the year i was looking forward to rec'ing it since my kids are coming for this easter and i was hoping to take them to the at least one of the parks with the kids. oh well...that's what you get. i don't want to say it can get any worse, but this is ME we are talking about here and i know better....i'm trying to think positive thought....just keep flowing through my head, it will be just fine and you will get your return in a few days!

      Tobee43 -

Unfortunately, you cannot file a prior years return electronically. You can only do the current year. Do you have an IRS office near you? I used to take
old returns directly to their office and get them receipted. It's faster than mailing it in and sometimes the revenue officer will input it right in front of you.

You will get interest on your refund - but they will not direct deposit a prior years return so you are looking at 8 weeks - give or take.

Your accountant should have gotten a receipt that your return was filed - I used to file them in batches and would get confirmation within 24 hours.

Stuff happens during tax season - sometimes a return will not get filed, it happens - at least you are getting a refund!

it got confirmed at 1:53 pm rec'd!!

i just hope now they will release my 2012 return...

that's exactly what the accountant said. he said they must have JUST started to allow it because he said NEVER before could he do the previous year ...only up to the oct 15th day of that extension. so this was new to him as well.

now i probably will have to wait months to get the money and it's not a small amount, so i'm a bit ***ed off about it, but what can you do. i just have to wait. i lost my patience a few years ago and can't seem to locate where they went

Actually, you probably will get processed sooner than you think. Since this is a new thing, hopefully the IRS won't have a glitch in getting your last year's refund to you ASAP!!!

thanks, but at this point, i just happy it's hopefully all fixed. in my years nothing like this ever happened. lucky for me i was waiting for the return, or most likely i wouldn't have noticed again!

just got verification from the IRS for the receipt of our 2011 taxes!!!! filed electronically! so now they got both 2011 and 2012.

i think there is a lesson to be learned here. my accountant is a long time personal friend, not that he doesn't charge me 2 arms and a leg to do our taxes (like over $400, which his discounted amount) but then he forgets to push that button last year!!! i think sometimes friends doing business for you can at times cause problems. for me, i'd just rather pay him, and put food on his table rather than a stranger, but i don't know now, anymore?
