    YEP...... IT'S A DOGS LIFE AT MINNY'S..........

    1. to pile up in a feather bed at nite with Minny, with my milkbone, rawhide, and my favorite toy and SNUGGLE

    4. too climb all over the MEN and not be told "girls don't do that"

    5. too sneak out of the yard or the door and "run for our freedom" to roam in the field, chase the neighbor cat we watch all day from afar.

    6. too climb to the top of the woodpile and watch the kids play on the other side of the fence

    7. to chase all the birds and creatures that try to entr our yard and take over

    8. too sit and wait for our "last bites" of food that everyone is eating... out goal is to hit everyone up for last bites..

    9. too be a "couch potato" all day Sunday

10..too be the "life of the party" at all get togethers even if 4am is kind of late for us

11.too chase our red lazer light around the room when friends come by to play

    12. to KNOW we are #1, safe, secure, well fed, and most of all LOVED..... AND CHERISHED.....

We're going to wait a little while for a dog.

Renting is very hard when it comes to animals of anykind. i know we had a very hard time finding a place to rent. We had no problem before bk cuz we owned. Afterwards, we had to place 3 of our shelties it was one of the hardest things we had to do even though they have loving homes now. We still miss them. The one sheltie was 10yrs old god love her, she ended up having a stroke over this but she is doing well now and very spoiled. anyways yes it is very hard finding a place to rent that excepts pets. Everyplace i called and or looked at refused us. We finally found one place that would let us keep our chi but nothing else. Thank god for that.
we felt stripped of everything it was awful but were plugging away making new memories etc. So dont give up.....

Great post. I want to be a dog now!

This is what else I love about dogs:

Dogs do not have problems expressing affection in public.

Dogs miss you when you're gone.

You never wonder whether your dog is good enough for you.

Dogs feel guilt when they've done something wrong.

Dogs don't brag about whom they have slept with.

            Dogs don't criticize your friends.

            Dogs admit when they're jealous.

Dogs do not play games with you -- except fetch (and then never laugh at how you throw).

Dogs are happy with any video you choose to rent, because they know the most important thing is that you're together.

Dogs don't feel threatened by your intelligence.

            You can train a dog.

Dogs are already in touch with their inner puppies.

You are never suspicious of your dog's dreams.

Gorgeous dogs don't know they're gorgeous.

The worst social disease you can get from dogs is fleas. (OK, the *really* worst disease you can get from them is rabies, but there's a vaccine for it, and you get to kill the one that gives it to you.)

            Dogs understand what "no" means.

Dogs don't need therapy to undo their bad socialization.

Dogs don't make a practice of killing their own species.

Dogs understand if some of their friends cannot come inside.

Dogs think you are a culinary genius.

You can house train a dog.

You can force a dog to take a bath.

            Dogs don't correct your stories.

Middle-aged dogs don't feel the need to abandon you for a younger owner.

Dogs aren't threatened by a woman with short hair.

Dogs aren't threatened by two women with short hair.

Dogs don't mind if you do all the driving.

Dogs don't step on the imaginary brake.

Dogs admit it when they're lost.

Dogs don't weigh down your purse with their stuff.

Dogs do not care whether you shave your legs.

Dogs take care of their own needs.

Dogs aren't threatened if you earn more than they do.

Dogs mean it when they kiss you.

Dogs are nice to your relatives.

My bassett/beagle mix Molly goes into fits of crying, talking etc when someone comes or she hasn't seen you for 10 minutes..... it's like "I haven't seen you all day, I've missed you terribly, your my bestest friend, where have you been?"......

And Minny (beagle) does the "hello" - then flops for the belly rub............

                Cracks everbody up............

Yeah, sometimes a "dogs life" sounds pretty good.............

During my BK process (which is still not closed - 2 years and counting).... my dogs have been my life line to sanity.............

They have been there thru it all...............

GREAT STRESS RELIEVERS............. when it got too much, I just started brushing dogs............ they love it, good for them, and helped me too......

Animals KNOW when your upset, sick, happy, irritated, etc....... they understand your moods and just sit back and watch you with concern on their face......

They love you when they know you need it the most....... and get terribly upset when you cry......

They will comfort you in anyway they can.... they'll even share their milkbone with you if they think it will help......

Yes, they have been life-savers for me during my bk process....... don't know that I could have made it without them......

I really appreciate all their devotion, concern and love they have bestowed upon me in the last 2 years... while going thru all this....

Would hate to loose one of them...............

i couldnt agree with you more on your entire post! well said.
in our case though we had 4 dogs, we had to give up 3 and they
went thru it all with us right down til we had to move. i cried for a very
long time daily, i still look at there pictures and cry. Like a piece of you is taken away. cant explain the pain/loss u feel.
they've done nothing wrong except unconditionally love us; we loved them back but when our hands were forced we had no choice. i still get reports on them they are with wonderful loving people one took 2 of them so they are still together and the other took my old girl. i know in my heart of hearts that they know we did what we had to and they still love us. we will see them in time.

So our lil chi has been a true blessing that we could keep her. she is pure love. WE thought of our furbabies as children more then 'dogs' so it was hard.

Like all our other dog lovers here, we adore our mixed breed dog, Cricket - we rescued her from the pound four years ago and she has rewarded us a hundred times over!

"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole." - Roger Caras

We have a cat also - Cricket and Mr. Mu are fast friends, share water bowls, and even nap on the same sofa together! When I'm having a stormy, emotional day, there they are right at my feet or on my lap ready for petting and attention - it's like the tension flows right out of me. Don't know what we would do without our pets!

Mine too are pound rescues.......... right off death row at Christmas.....
                          Best thing I ever did..........

I can't imagine parting with them, would break my heart.......(though that could have happened if I had not been in a position to buy my home back)... and stay in it.

Everybody said I was more worried about my "girls" welfare than my own...... when it came to the bankruptcy issue and the house....

I'm so thankful that I didn't have to give them up and I truely feel compassion and sympathy for anyone that had to give up a beloved pet during the bankruptcy process because no one would rent to them.....

Pets are not just pets - they are family................

Sorry you had to give up 3 of yours... hope you can visit them sometimes!!
A dog/cat never forgets an owner......... (my mom hadn't seen my cat for 10 years and my cat remembered her)...... animals have a long-time memory....

Aw, a friend of mine just got the cutest puppy! I'm so jealous!!! I have a cat (8-Ball) who is King of the Cats. This cat has no fear of anyone or anything. I'd love to get a service dog for my oldest son but first of all they are very expensive and second, I rent this house and wouldn't want anything to happen to it. So for now......no dog.
