Sinking, I hate to get off-thread again but I can relate. I still tune alot out, a whole lot. I omit alot in hearing. I was that hubby. Almost always have had odd shifts, days off and extra jobs. Three boys, three years to the day apart. I can really relate to what you said, I do think that that is why we omit alot of facts in hearing and things get filtered, that could be the case or not here.

If I had to do over, I WOULD ELOPE!!!! My husband is an only child therefore you can imagine what my wedding was like. Yikes!!!!! AND she is still like it. With our house, children, everything.....just cannot let go. Tin, you could be in for a rough ride. Any chance you will be moving out of state. Very tough with MIL right there watching all the time. Now, a good mother in law, I would not see as a problem, its just that so many of them are too opinionated. I used to think it came from their era (and some of it probably does). However, I know many women her age and they do not all act like that.
