Scrapbooking....I do great layouts...aka pages, I have won some contest...no money,...lol I wish. I have an album for the family and one for each of the boys, and one about me (life before hubby and kids)
I also do scrapbooking as gifts, I have made four albums so far, and not the cheesy little ones, the big 12x12 ones. 3 baby ones (as shower gifts) and one pet one.
I love it and scrap whenever I am not online.....LOL

Oh yeah....my other hobbies, are my boys and hubby ...LOL

Wow - this a good post.

I know this isn't really a "hobby", but I love being a parent. I didn't have the greatest father in the world, so I take really great pride in being so close to my children.

But I am also an AVID reader, I sometimes have 3-4 books going at once. Mainly non-fiction, biographies, military history. But I also like Stephen King, John Grisham, Tom Clancy

I am also an devoted homeowner. I love doing projects on my house, wether it is landscaping, palnting, painting, wood working, etc. I take great satisfaction out of improving my home. Like readin,g I always have 3-4 projects going at once. For instance, I am putting up a fence, doing some crown moding and turning our dining room into a home office.

SPORTS - Football and Baseball. Go BENGALS!!!!!!!!!!

And lastly, I would say I am pretty active on this board. I really enjoy posting here and talking to people in the same situation as myself. It has helped me realize it is not "just me", but there are thousands of people with the same fears, headaches and troubles as me. When I first came here, I had a TON of questions. Some many people were helpful. Now, after being in a BK for two years, I consider myself sort of "veteran" and I take really great pride in being able to reassure someone else or answer the same questions that I had two years ago.

        Jman--

Are you a Buckeye fan, too?? I have relatives that live up that way who are rather reserved and stoic, but go completely bananas when the Buckeyes play. And don't get me started about Michigan games!!

To be honest, I am originally from Boston, not Ohio. I moved out here 4 years ago, so I don't have that allegiance to Ohio State.

But put a Red Sox or Patriots game on and I am a NUT!

I don't know if they would be considered hobbies or not, but here's what I like to do in my free time:

            1. Hiking
            2. Camping
            3. Fishing
            4. Swimming in Lakes

There is this really cool man-made reservoir lake (called "Saguaro Lake") about a half hour drive from where I live and the water is warm enough to swim in almost year round. I've even been swimming there in December and January and although it was rather brisk and I couldn't stay in very long, I still enjoyed the experience. The coolest thing about this lake is that it has a series of ledges with varying heights where you can climb up on them and then jump off into the lake below. It's a bit dangerous, I suppose, but I've never been hurt doing it and it's quite a thrill. The key is to try to get a running leap so you propel your body as far out as possible before you start the free falling. Lots of fun and relatively cheap.

Going, it is odd. I've been stung by Man-o-war numerous times since a kid. The first time I got so tangled I was in the hospital for a day, the next and succeeding built an immunity or something, never as bad as the first. Took a hit from a stingray once, not phased. On our boat swam in the Gulf Stream blue water and when the dog and I got back in five hammerheads swam under the ladder in X formation. I can't say they were huge or tiny, the water distorts. But swimmimng in canals and lakes has always bothered me some, I'll do it, but don't like it. Don't know why.

maybe it's Alligators, out here they are everywhere. In TN this year, still did not go in the lake and as a small kid did it constantly at Montgomery Bell near Nashville without fear.

gotta admit, that's an awesome looking lake area though!

Well, swimming in an Arizona lake lets me avoid jellyfish, alligators, and sharks. There's nothing dangerous in our lakes. Just lots of bluegill, some bass and a few trout. I think I enjoy jumping into the lake more than anything.

I build radio controlled model boats. Rewarding and not a real expensive hobby. Biggest expense are the servo's in the boat.

How do you insure they are good?

well, I took a chance the first time or two, but once I found a guy on ebay that had a good feedback score and purchased from him without a problem, I just keep going back to him. I've been lucky, he's a great guy. But I guess I could have been ripped off.

                            • Photography is probably my favorite hobby--got a digital camera in 2003 and made it a much less expensive hobby. Make bound photo books, calendars, etc on PhotoWorks and MyPublisher to give as gifts.
                            • Being creative on the computer is a close second--making web sites, digital art, photo galleries, bryce 3D landscapes
                            • Collecting olympic pins (usually on eBay--never been burned once and bought hundreds), but have had to sell most of them due to finances (rather I get the money than trustee)
                            • Music--listening, collecting imports/demos/other rarieties (in the same category as above--selling them off right now to afford the lawyer)

                              Disneyland. Seriously, that's my hobby.

Not just going, although I go every week. But learning about Walt Disney, Disney history, etc. I can't help it, I was raised this way.
