Home equity loans by their very nature mature at some point and re-set to a fixed rate. Your Chapter 13 did not change the terms of the underlying loan. Pull your contract and review it for details.

Hi..i'm in bankruptcy right now - getting close to the end of a 5 year plan. I have a variable rate mortgage. It is has gone up every year (not much) duing the bnkrupty. I understand the mortgage terms stay the same while in BK. (having said that i make my payment outside the plan)

    Home Equity Loan

I filed bankruptcy in 2010, and never missed payments on my 1st mortgage and Home Equity Loan. Recently, I received notice that my home equity loan interest rate will go up by 1/4 point. I thought the mortgage company cannot raise my interest rate or change terms of my loan after bankruptcy? Or I am wrong?
