    Mortage and car reporting

My chapter 7 is finally discharged but I notice that my car that I reaffirmed and my mortage are reporting under the bankruptsy on my credit report. What do I have to do so that this starts reporting my payments? What r the first steps to rebuilding or should I wait a while?

While I cannot comment on what to do about your car and mortgage payments, I can point you to a newly created "sticky" on the topic of rebuilding:Good luck on your rebuild and keep us posted.

Please see our moderator's sticky on rebuilding. The link follows. Also, I won't talk about the reaffirmation itself, which is usually not a good idea, but you'd have to talk to the creditors about the reporting of those accounts.

The following is kind of a distillation of various bits of post-discharge advice (from my "do as I suggest, not as I did" department) I've helped other folks out with: Following your discharge: Wait 6 weeks and then get copies of all three of your credit reports from annualcreditreport.com Go through those reports
