One of the cards I'm including in my bk is actually an HSBC card (GM card) - so I think I'm safe from pre-screened offers from these guys...lol.

So my ch 7 was discharged feb. 09. Applied 6 mos later for orchard card, cap 1 and hooters. Declined for all 3. Never applied for anything else until I applied to cap 1 again last week. Still declined. I just applied for this one and got approved for $500 limit with no annual fee! I'm satisfied- I just want to rebuild my credit. Thanks for posting the link!

I got approved for $100, don't know about the annual fee yet. I guess I'll do what someone else posted on here, use it for the monthly gym bill of $30.00. Can't do anything else with it.LOL I am contemplating whether or not to activate this card. I was hoping for $300.00 at least. Will a card with such a low limit really help your credit scores? But thanks to the OP for the information.

DH and I were both approved for $0 annual fee and a $100 limit. I discharged in May and included 3 HSBC cards including a best buy card.

the cards will be cut in half as soon as they arrive and be used to buy a couple itunes songs a month

I'm waiting on my card. I just got an email about my Reward Zone membership. I'm waiting to see what Capitol One says. They sent a letter to make sure I was the one who applied for the card that I got last week so we'll see.

I have also applied and approved with a $300 limit w/ $0 annual fee.
I just checked my FICO Score Equifax and it was 592.
I just wanted something to start building the credit again so in the future I could buy a house again.
This beats the heck out the other cards with fees.
    Thanks for sharing!

It varies with credit card companies. There is a recent thread about Cap1 offering increases to some members after 3 months and others, longer or not at all. Perhaps you could talk to customer service with your credit card company about their policy of increasing CLs to their members whether they have filed for BK before or not.

I see all the time people are looking for new cards to help build credit... Now I know alot of people on here are going to say "Credit is bad, and is what got you into this mess", but I know others are looking for a safe way to rebuild.

HSBC recently changed the terms on their Best Buy Mastercard, and is no longer offering secured cards, and now is offering a $100 credit limit for a gold card. There is no application fee, and no anual fee. You can see if your pre-approved through the link below, and there will only be a soft hit on your credit. (Beware- If you continue with the application process, it WILL be a hard hit).

Alot of people on the Credit Board forum are saying that they are approved even with other HSBC accounts, even with one's recently opened.

I applied becuase I figured it would help me build some credit if it is paid every month, and I cant get into alot of trouble with only $100. It's small, but a starting place for some of us that can get anything.

Sorry if others have already brought this up, I did a quick search and counldn't find it.

I hope this can help someone!

I got approved for the card! My limit is only $100. Not that it's a bad thing. I just want something that I can use and make regular payments on. I'm sure I'll get an increase at some point. They used Experian to check my scores and it's much lower than Equifax by about 66 points. I applied for a Capital One so I'll see what happens with that one.
