    Time to Celebrate

    I am finally at the end!!!! Received a letter from the trustee today congratulating me on completing my case. It states that the final accounting needs to be done, which I believe is already done.

    Question,
    It advises me to inform the CRA that the case is complete. Will the CRAs update verything that was showing under the 13 to 0 balances, and paid/closed?

    I know I may have a little more time to wait, but to finally get that congratulations letter is great.

    Filed in October 2004, and getting out early!!

    Congratulations.......it must feel wonderful! I'm chugging along right behind ya, we filed in 12/04 and we are 3 months away from completion. I can't wait!!!! Enjoy the letter, I'd be reading it over and over again!!

            Congrats on making it through! It was a tough road but you did it!!

            I filed 9/2005 and my status is 'about to close', so I am anxiously waiting for the closing process to start.

                  Congrats, we received ours last month.(Chapter 13, 41/2 years at 5%) Waiting for Discharge papers that we could get any day.

                      Hooray! Felt like you dug a tunnel with a spoon, but it's over. Best of luck to you! Thanks for the encouraging words to the rest of us.

                      I filed under the old law and it's good to hear that someone actually completes a 13. Read somewhere that many filers don't.

                        something I noticed on my recent credit reports.
                        The 13 filing is scheduled to be removed in October 2011.

                        Do the CRAs report from filing date or discharge date?

                          With Chapter 13, usually 7 years from filing date. If you complete the plan, you're a long way toward 'home'!

                            its great to see the Chapter 13 success stories- I just mailed in payment #18 of #60 to the trustee over the weekend... there is light at the end of the tunnel..
